As we say on the Creative Concepts Twitter bio, Social Media, PR, SEO, & Marketing are what we live for but we also like to chat about Fashion, Beauty, Food & Drink, Eco-Living and good Causes (we also sneak some great parenting tweets in there too)!  We would like to follow the same path with our blog…every once in a while we would like to surprise and entertain you by writing about one of these topics so today it’s all about the perfect summer wardrobe for modern moms written by our own Melissa Schweiger: social media strategist, mom blogger and fashion and beauty editor all rolled up into one great writer.   Melissa’s entry below:

Summer is unofficially here. And with the season’s first heat wave, comes the question of what to wear. For me, a working mom who splits here time between an office, meetings, a home office not to mention the time logged on the playground chasing after my two young boys, it takes a strategic mix of comfort and style. I’ve decided to play it chic this summer with easy to wear dresses, trouser capris and shoes that feel as good as they look.

I’ve recently discovered a new mom-owned and designed footwear brand called Roses & Rye. Each pair contains a podiatrist designed insole and a stylish and simple design. The shoes come in ballet flat shapes with a classic toe, an open toe or d’orsay style open sides. They are very chic and a dream to walk miles in.

I also love my new summer dresses from Theory, Shoshanna and Diane von Furstenberg. The key to choosing dresses that are mom-friendly is going with cotton fabrics that leave you plenty of room to breathe and fun colors that can easily transition from board room to play date. My wardrobe used to be all-black before having kids, but now I like to wear vibrant purples, blues and pinks to keep my boys’ attention.

For accessories, I’m newly obsessed with a fun line called Chewbeads. Designed by a mom with a fashion background, these fun and playful baubles double as teething jewelry for little ones. My one-year-old can’t get enough of my oversized lilac beads!
Summer time is all about easy pieces that keep you feeling fresh and renewed—very important when you’re spending much of your time balancing a schedule that gives sippy cups and laptops equal play!
